Peskov says wrong to shift business risks to budget

MOSCOW, Mar 12 (PRIME) –Shifting risks from business to the budget is wrong, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Friday.

"Business talks about risk hedging. You saw government reaction that this is wrong, perhaps, to shift business risks -- business is a risk in any case -- to the budget," Peskov said.

He said that the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs believes that the government economic tools are not effective enough.

"But the government thinks that on the contrary, some of them are already demonstrating their effectiveness. Business talks about different taxation instruments and you have seen reaction of the Finance Ministry,” Peskov said.

He said the government is now compiling a list of orders to stimulate investment and will continue dialogue with business, including on additional measures.

“The state is going to and should create the best conditions for internal investment of the business. This is how you can attract investment and there is no other way,” he said.

Peskov also praised the central bank’s role in the Russian economy saying that the macroeconomic situation is stable, which is confirmed by many global financers.
